Which Is Your Favorite Rock Decade?

With a name like "rockabilly" it's no surprise that the early rockers also made a splash in the country charts of the 1950s. After all, the "billy" part of the name comes from the fact that country music of that era was often called "hillbilly music" and many of the early rockabilly performers came from backgrounds heavily influenced by country music. Often they had played country before turning to rockabilly, but in virtually all cases, they grew up with country music (along with blues, R&B, and gospel music) all around them. It's also not surprising then that many of the early rockabilly songs found their way up toward the top of both the pop and country charts.

Last night David and I met up with Emma and Josh at Angels Stadium in Anaheim, CA to see my beloved Detroit Tigers take on the Angels in the second game of their 3 game series. While the Tigers lost 1-0, the game was really a good one … and if it wasn’t for that teeny, tiny point it would’ve been a much better game ;) We had a total blast tho. Last night was my first visit to Angels Stadium and I have to tell you, I loved it entirely. Everyone is so friendly there. Sometimes, opposing team fans are treated poorly at games like this and while I’m sure that does happen even at Angels Stadium, I saw no sign of malice at all. Angels fans are a class act and I am really looking forward to attending another game there soon.

Tonight, David and I are heading back to Anaheim, CA to see New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys in concert at the Honda Center. I’ve never seen NKOTB before so I figured, what the Hell. I hear the show is very fun so I’m excited. Any NKOTBSBers out there? Will I see you at the concert tonight?

No more perusing Facebook in your underwear.

The site will be launching Skype video chat later this week. Calling the launch "something awesome," CEO Mark Zuckerberg hinted that this new integration would be added to Facebook chat.

There will now be an in-browser video chat that is actually powered by Skype, but it's not clear whether or not you will need to download the Skype program itself.

This announcement comes just two months after Microsoft announced they were buying Skype for $8.5 million. And with Facebook and Microsoft being friendly partners, this could be a lucrative business deal for both companies.
